ST.GEORGE’S, GRENADA – GIS – Another major health initiative has commenced at the Sauteurs Health Centre as the Ministry of Health steps up its Primary Health Care (PHC) initiative.
Dr. Francis Martin – Director of (PHC), in an interview explained that a specific category of services are being provided to residents of the St. Patrick’s Health District where the PHC program is being rolled out.
He said, to ensure that clients receive these services, the Ministry felt it was necessary to hire additional staff including doctors and nurses who will conduct a more intense home visit program, and be available at the health Centre until 7:00 p.m Monday through Friday.
Martin added, that this was one of the strategic moves to ensure that the needs of the people are adequately addressed, since many people may find it more convenient to access the services after 4:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, the regular weekend emergency services at the Sauteurs Health Centre continue.
