QEH facing huge lawsuit claims

THE QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (QEH) is facing a number of lawsuits which could cost it big bucks.
According to the recently released Auditor General’s report, it would cost the QEH around a $43 million payout if all the lawsuits pending against it were successful. This figure is the institution’s estimated value of the 200 claims against it – many of which pre-date the institution becoming a statutory corporation in 2005. But the hospital’s legal officer, Ivan Walters, is satisfied that based on his review of all existing claims, the Martindale’s Road, St Michael, facility is not at fault in about half of the incidents, while most of the other cases can be strongly defended. – See more at: http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/82129/qeh-facing-huge-lawsuit-claims#sthash.kmCmXeL1.dpuf
