A Barbadian nurse in New York is in critical condition after allegedly being beaten by a patient.
News sources in New York say that the New York City police have indicated that Evelyn Lynch, a nurse at Brookdale University Hospital is suffering from life-threatening injuries.
According to reports, the nurse was attacked when she went to the fifth floor and approached the bedside of her alleged attacker Kwinci Jones, 40. Jones was admitted to Brookdale after complaining of stomach pains.
Unfortunately, as Ms Lynch approached him to remove his catheter for his imminent discharge, reports suggest that “he jumped her” and it is further alleged that Jones beat her until she was unconscious and bleeding from the head.
Nurse, who is 70 yrs. old is said to be in critical condition at Kings County Medical Hospital.
Meanwhile the New York Police Department (NYPD) has since arrested Mr. Jones.
Ms. Nurse underwent emergency surgery and her colleagues are in an emotional state.
“It could have been me”, said one nurse speaking anonymously to the press.
