Blood Transfusion Service Gets Mobile Collection Unit

By Caribbean Medical News Staff
Health Minister on Jamaica Dr Fenton Fergusson expressed gratitude upon the receipt of a mobile collection unit by a charity group out of the UK. The National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) was the recipient of the gift.

Fergusson said that the unit will boost collection as well as ensure consistency in the collection of blood through the roving unit. He made his remarks at a handing over ceremony in Kingston recently.

The donation was made by the Angel Foundation and its partners of the United Kingdom.

Fergusson reiterated that part of the long term vision of his Ministry was to increase blood donation, enhance the blood supply of the Country and to improve stakeholder relationships between and among all.
