His name is Adrian Ali but he is now being called Lazarus.
This after Ali said he “died” for 15 minutes during what was expected to be a routine operation to remove a kidney stone.
While in the operating theatre, Ali said his lungs collapsed and he began bleeding through his nose, mouth and ears.
His heart also stopped beating. Ali, his relatives and friends believe his surviving the ordeal was a miracle.
The 39-year-old psychiatric nurse said his procedure was the first to be done for 2017 at the San Fernando General Hospital.
“It was supposed to take an hour and a half where they get the stone with the help of a camera and they take the stone off the kidney and mend back the kidney… I was getting a strange feeling as I was the first to get it done for the year,” he said.
Ali said on February 6, the day of the operation, his blood pressure was high but he was told it would be lowered when he got to the operating theatre.
The God-fearing Ali said: “Knowing that my pressure was high, I started to pray. I asked God to forgive me for my sins.”(Trinidad Express)
