A practicing dentist in the BVI, Dr. Trevor Connor, has received another prestigious accreditation in his profession.

Dr. Connor has earned a Diplomate status within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). The awarding of Diplomate status is the highest honour a professional society such as the ICOI can bestow on a dental professional involved in oral implantology.

The ICOI conducts a Diplomate program in which active members are encouraged to achieve Diplomate status through their efforts in education, research and actual clinical experience.  Advance Credential Committee interviews and testing are required.  All Diplomates of the ICOI may choose to list the designate “D.I.O.C.I” after their names.

Dr. Connor has been providing specialized dental services in orthodontics in the United States Virgin Islands since 1990. In addition to his practice at Connor Dental Center located in St. Thomas, USVI, he maintains practices at the Smile Dental Spa in the BVI and in his native home Anguilla.

Following additional training, Dr Connor has been providing dental implant services in his practice since 1997. He is now offering laser periodontal (gum) surgery as another aspect to his dental services.

According to Dr. Connor, “The award received is a validation for all the hard work and persistence in continuing education over the many years and I am very proud to be the recipient of such a distinction.”

He is one of only five (5) persons in the Caribbean who have obtained this level of recognition in Implant Dentistry from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

The International Congress of Oral Implantologists is a tax-exempt, non-profit, dental educational organization.  It is dedicated to communicating scientific knowledge and improving the clinical practice of dental implantology worldwide.  It conducts numerous scientific symposia each year and supports research through its Implant Dentistry Research and Education Foundation (IDREF).
