Taiwan offering medical scholarship

From this year, Vincentians will be able to study medicine in Taiwan. To further enhance the medical service and cooperation, for the first time, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has decided to provide Vincentians with scholarships to pursue a four-year postgraduate medical degree in Taiwan, since the inception of its scholarship program in 2004.

To further enhance the medical service and cooperation, for the first time, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has decided to provide Vincentians with scholarships to purse a four-year postgraduate medical degree in Taiwan, since the inception of its scholarship program in 2004. However, awardees of the Scholarship, upon completion of the study, are obligated to return to provide medical service in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The medical degree program will be offered in English by the I-Shou University, commencing 2013 academic year. Since it is a postgraduate program, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and take examinations in English, Biology and Chemistry at the venue designated by the Embassy, on July 15, 2013. Besides, applicants will also be given an oral examination by the University via Skype or telephone from July 16 through July 18.
The Scholarship Program covers airfare, dormitory, tuition fee, credit fees, book costs and monthly allowance.
The Embassy welcomes Vincentian Youths seeking a medical degree in Taiwan to apply for it. Applicants must complete the online applications at both http://www.icdf.org.tw/TSP/welcome.aspx and http://enroll.isu.edu.tw//enroll//DP  by July 1, 2013, print the completed forms, and submit them to the Embassy by July 4, 2013 together with proof of nationality, Bachelor’s degree diploma, complete grade transcript, two recommendation letters and TaiwanICDF Medical Report.
