UNICEF says Antigua & Barbuda’s anti-child abuse systems inadequate

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Antigua & Barbuda’s response systems for child sexual abuse are inadequate.

So says the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Representative for the Eastern Caribbean and Barbados.

And in related news, the ministry of social transformation is encouraging residents to collaborate with authorities to help spread the anti child sexual abuse message through non-traditional means.

The call was made by Senator Malaka Parker. While she thanked the defenders already on board, Senator Parker said she isn’t satisfied with the results yielded under the innocence project.

Senator Malaka Parker was speaking following a regional Child Sexual Abuse meeting held by the United Nations Children Fund last week.
